Scientists name many factors in the list of what causes cellulite. The fact is, they still are not sure how it works and new research is being carried out. Of course, if the cause of cellulite was only fat, and if we could get rid of cellulite with diet only, we would have the solution to this cosmetic issue. But the reality is far more complicated. Let’s take a look at some cellulite causes. If you understand what causes cellulite you might be able to eliminate some of these factors and your cellulite will improve.
Now, by this time scientists are pretty sure that cellulite is passed from one generation to another through genes. So if your mother had a lot of cellulite, there are good chances you will have some, too. Unfortunately, this cellulite cause cannot be eliminated, but if you know that you are prone to have cellulite, you may try to prevent it and improve your overall health and skin condition.
Among the causes of cellulite there is the structural conformation below the skin. For more information, see our What Is Cellulite article.
The next point on our list of what causes cellulite is a hypo dynamic lifestyle (or inactive lifestyle) and bad eating habits. Even though cellulite is not caused directly by the accumulation of fat or over weight, which is often a consequence of bad eating habits or a lack of exercise, still obesity can worsen the appearance of cellulite. Cellulite is caused by the popping out of the fat inside the skin, not under it. This is why even very thin people may have cellulite. But if you gain much weight, you gain it both under your skin and inside it. Obesity makes cellulite more visible.
Eating a lot of fat and not doing enough exercise resolves in poor health, slow metabolism, and a reduction of body liquids circulation. All these can cause or worsen an existing cellulite condition. This is why living a healthy life means reducing the risks of having cellulite.
If you want to know what causes cellulite, you should think about toxins. The natural way for removal of toxins is through defecation. However, if one has some constipation or other problems with removing toxins through the natural way, they get stored up in the colon. Then they get re-digested and go into our blood. They get stored up in the body fat, including cellulite fat deposits. Toxins make the skin look bumpier.
Another cause for cellulite is not drinking enough water. Water flushes the body. It helps to wash off the toxins, stored in cellulite. If you do not drink enough water, your entire body and skin suffer from dehydration. Skin loses its elasticity and cellulite becomes more visible.
The decrease of blood and lymph circulation in the body is another cause for cellulite. When a person is young, blood runs freely inside the vessels and delivers enough of nutrients to the skin. Lymph washes away all the toxins and waists from the skin and does not allow for the cellulite to build up. However, when aging, the body liquids stop running smoothly and cellulite builds up and becomes more visible.
Other factors that promote cellulite include hormone imbalance, tensions, stress, emotions, a poor metabolism, smoking, and excess caffeine.
Once you know what causes cellulite and what worsens it, you should focus not only on eliminating these factors, but on maintaining your overall body health on high level. The skin is the largest organ of your body and its beauty and health greatly depends on the entire body health and well being.
All the factors which cause and worsen cellulite cannot be eliminated, of course, but many can, such as unhealthy eating habits. These factors also contribute to your overall health and the other way around.
